The darkness is coming
Do you fear it?

It wasn’t my fault. I didn’t mean to look for things I wasn’t supposed to. I didn’t mean for death to come after me. I really didn’t.

But it still happened.

I’m Zoran and my name is the only thing I remember about myself. I don't know why I woke up in a forest, why I taste blood in my mouth, and why I see weird screens in front of me. From the time I first woke up, all I wanted was to find out who I was. But what I didn’t expect was for my search to spark something that was never meant to happen.

It has started now. I can see it. Cities will burn and towers will fall. Chaos will descend the heavens and ravage the earth. The darkness is coming, and the world will tremble in its wake.

Awakening A World of Ga'em LitRPG The Eternal Book 1 eBook Dhayaa Anbajagane

I love LitRPG and bought this because it had decent ratings and was recommended on some other sites.

This book is written for older children and young adults. There is very little character development and what is there is very basic and shallow. World building is non-existent. Older children and young adults normally have short attention spans so the author keeps the story moving fairly quickly however, at the cost of any sense of reality. When I read a LitRPG or Gamelit novel i like to feel like I'm actually in the world with the MC. That's pretty much impossible to do when the story stretches over a period of several days yet the MC never once sleeps, nor eats a meal and crosses vast amounts of the game world's terrain (tens or hundreds of miles) in a matter of a few short hours with no literary explanation as to how. The MC is very dim witted and every one of the challenges he encountered couldn't really be considered challenges at all because he would simply "remember" some OP power he previously had and one-shot the army of mobs he was facing. That is a truthful example from the book by the way.

i gave the book 1 star because I felt the premise of story had substantial promise yet i felt the author lazily/quickly threw it together.

Awakening A World of Ga'em LitRPG The Eternal Book 1 eBook Dhayaa Anbajagane Reviews

A middling to fair story . It was fairly fast paced , the problem I had was the mc is a weak character to start with ( normal at this point in the story ) then you follow along as he struggles . And then he finds the " treasure " now he is op the end , till next time . A note to the author keeping in mind this is just my opinion so feel free to ignore it . For me a character needs to progress evenly . Not struggle and then all of a sudden be op . With this scenario there is little reason to go back and enjoy the story a second time . Will I get the next one ? Probably not .
This is good. It does need a little editing.
An author who snags your attention from the first page! And holds onto it till the last page...you need to read this one!
I just startling the series so far so good I like the book it keeps the action going I can't wait for the next book
I really love that I got this for free. I really enjoyed the book and I think I'll get the others.
I thoroughly enjoyed the exciting storyline and the well-executed twist. Having read some of the negative reviews prior to purchasing this book, I did not expect to like it as much as I do; in my opinion, the grammar mistakes cited by many reviewers did not detract much (if at all) from the story, and the author more than makes up for any shortcomings with his creative storytelling and imaginative style. I look forward to reading Anbajagane's other books and following his progress as a writer.
Overall, the book did a great job of introducing the setting and the characters; the protagonist's unique adventure and satisfying battle scenes kept my interest throughout, and I'm very excited to discover the rest of Zoran's journey!
I've read every book in The Land series, originally copyrighted in 2016 and it's just great. Aleron Kong has a litrpg masterpiece on his hands there. That lead me to look for and read other books in the genre. Eventually that lead me to this book copyrighted 2017. Those dates are not arbitrary as although I liked this book, it just seemed to share too many similarities to the Land Founding by Aleron Kong. The similarities with the slightly older book was a little off putting. Almost like this book was a faster paced abbreviated version of Founding where the names of people and places were changed to protect their identities. Not a bad book, but I much more recommend The Land series by Aleron Kong. Less rushed, better paced, better character development and just better over-all then this book. Not bad, but this book is obviously derivited of other books in the genre.
